Blended learning fuels British Energy

British Energy has commissioned eOrigen.com to produce a training programme to illustrate safe practices when working with low-voltage and extra-low-voltage electrical apparatus.

A DVD video forms part of a blended-learning package that includes an integrated workbook, computer-delivered assessment and instructor-led training sessions. The course covers safe working practices and the legal responsibilities of those organizing and carrying out the work. It can be studied on an individual basis or as part of a group and is assessed through both electronic and paper-based examinations.

Although the adjectives suggest a low level of risk to the layman, low-voltage and extra-low-voltage apparatus is extremely hazardous if the correct procedures are not employed.

Other programmes e-Origen.com has produced for British Energy deal with safe unescorted access to the site, pre-job briefing, contributing to excellence, radiological safety, emergency arrangements, working in confined spaces, and risk assessment.

eOrigen.com is a multimedia-content company that specializes in blended media for learning and corporate communications.
