Learning the law – through balls, blindfolds and buckets

European Golf Brands, owner of golf-trolley makers Powakaddy International and Hillbilly, has discovered that employment legislation can be learned with balls, blindfolds and buckets in the open air.

The Performance Solution facilitator Gail Wallwork ran a programme of three-day events to enable a cross-section of employees, from managers to members of the employee consultative group, to understand the soft skills required to ensure that the new Employee Information and Consultation Regulations added value to a dynamic and growing business.

The 20 activities were aimed at building communication, trust and feedback skills. One manager, reflecting on the events, said: “It is amazing when we can learn so many things, including legislation, and enjoy team building at the same time.”
