Improving supervisory performance
Abstract
Many supervisors feel that they are stuck with an impossible job, with insufficient authority. Simultaneously, management does not believe supervision is accomplishing as much as could be expected. Not infrequently both parties look to some form of training as the answer. In many cases substantial sums are invested in supervisory training; and few would question that most persons, let alone supervisors, can benefit from suitable well‐structured training programmes.
