Abstract

The central issue presented by the Matheson case appears superficially to be concerned with a suggested change in organisational structure to a more “materials management” oriented logistics system. While organisational restructuring might be a possible route to solving some of their current problems, it is only one way of defining proper responsibility for inventory management throughout the logistics system.
