Abstract

Renowned as a consummate networker who ‘stalks the corridors of power’ Stephen Bubb's work on leadership, sector funding and public service reform has radically shifted attitudes and policies in both government and the third sector. Born and brought up in Kent, he read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Christ Church, Oxford. He lives in the London borough of Lambeth and in Charlbury in the Cotswolds. He has been a Youth Court Magistrate, Councillor, Health Authority Member, Open University Tutor, Non‐Executive Director in the private sector, Chair of an orchestra and Founder of a charity. He is an Independent Assessor for government appointments and a member of the Honours Advisory Committee.Stephen has been in major national roles in the TGWU, NUT and the AMA (Association of Metropolitan Authorities) and was a Founding Director of the National Lottery Charities Board. He was recently appointed Chair of Adventure Capital Fund. In 2007 he became Secretary General of EUCLID, the European Third Sector Leaders Network. He is much in demand as a speaker and media commentator both in the UK and abroad, where he advocates a radical role for the country's third sector.
