Abstract
Reports on the National Book Festival held on 8 September 2001, at the East Lawn of the US Capitol and in the Thomas Jefferson and James Madison Buildings of the Library of Congress, in the USA. States that as the first‐ever celebration in the capital it attracted between 25,000 and 30,000 people who came to have books signed, listen to music, stories, meet storybook characters and learn about organizations that promote reading.
